A driving day.. We have an early breakfast and take the boat back to Cape Maclear.
We head north with the lake to the east. Many villages, and later forested areas - gum, pine and rubber plantations.
The road is poor..Every 50-70 kms there are police road blocks.. very friendly police just asking where we are going and then giving instructions.. No fines today.

We are on the major truck route bringing everything you need from the massive port of Dar es Salam.. Food, fuel, clothing etc.

We phone ahead for accommodation for tonight.. going rate is US$200 for a room.
Eventually get a place at Nkartha Bay for US$90 sounds nice but the place is run down. Owned by an English couple... who should not be in the business. Staff as always excellent , fresh butter fish for dinner, really very good $9. That is value.
