We got away soon after breakfast .. found an ATM that worked for o'seas cards in Irungu and headed for a small Park named Mikumi.. Got there at about 2.30. The Manager was a great old gentleman.. knowledgeable and the camp was very well run.
We asked for sundowner drinks and a guide for an afternoon trip into Mikumi..
A quick dip in the pool before we go.. Rayna disturbs a snake near the pool..about 3-4 foot long..a green mamba, it takes fright and slides into the pool does a couple of laps before it finds a way to get out and its gone
The guide and sundowners arranged in a flash. Our guide Frieda was wonderful - charming, and gave us a good history of the park.. has a good eye and took us to a couple of waterholes to start with.
Frieda saw this young male in the pond .. he had found a drowned antelope stuck in the mud.. but he didn't know what to do with it.

We noticed another vehicle observing something nearby.. three lions.. great..

But we only have a few hours in the park so we move to the next water hole..

This is a sight to behold! Sipping a beer and watching this.
Then back to the lion waterhole..
