George Clarke

Updated: Jan 4, 2020

Had an early start, driving north for about 3 hours. I now know about the Kalahari Sands - the very fine sand that makes up the geological formation for much of Botswana and all the way into Zimbabwe.

Animal sightings were good. Of course, Gemsbok and Springbok, but Zoe did get an

amazing shot of Kudu Males.

Great pic by Zoe

And lots of Ostrich

2 male black and white 2 females a dull grey/brown

100's of Gemsbok

And more meerkat!

More Meercats

But it was a good day for us..Zoe has good eyes.. She spotted a cat...

At 20k's an hour and the Karakul in the shade a great find

We were lucky, as it got closer.

Karakul as rare as Wild Dog

Wildebeest.. in the shade out of the midday heat

Lunch.

Zoe enjoying half a sandwich - a hawk had the other half. Note the sand

Back to camp by about 3pm, so Zoe could join an evening drive.

A good local guide, very informative... and another Karakul this time eating wild cat.

Black backed Jackal

At a distance we saw Brown Hyena and that night heard them around the camp.

A great day in a true paradise.
