Aug 8th Moremi

Early start with the Portuguese couples.. Before we get into the park we see 2 Wild dog (also known as painted dog) These are moving fast down the road hard to get a picture and then 3 male lions sitting at the side of the road... I can't get a pic of all 3 but these are O.K.

Youngsters I'd say but fine examples

Worth looking at the picture again.. the plant in front of the lions is wild sage .. If you crush the leaves has an sage smell and the villagers would use it as an insect ( mosquito ) repellant.

a handsome fellow as I was at his age

After a few minutes they are on the move.. and there are others watching..see the giraffe

Then into Moremi game park...Park entry fee about A$18 per day per person plus A$8 for the vehicle.

Moremi, I believe is one of the better parks - not too many lodges and so few vehicles which is good. Unlike East Africa.

A typical scene in Moremi .These are Plains Zebra.See the brown shadow in the white stripe.

A reasonable day in Moremi .. The portuguese are having fun. I head back to camp at about midday.

All is good.

Well set up ..and its good . but all three air mattresses I bought leak

Yes all 3 mattresses leak .. Sleeping on the ground takes me back to my Boy Scout days..

It's bloody uncomfortable.. Took a week for the bruises on my hips to recover, but it is all fun..

The Portuguese are invited to dinner and they survive my cooking!!!

A good night ..and some companionship.
